Concept to Pages Workshop
Location: Los Angeles (West Hollywood area)
Saturdays 10am – 1pm
February 8 – March 28, 2020
Bonus page read sessions: April 4 & 11
Leader: Heidi Hornbacher
We’re bringing our long-running Italy screenwriting retreat program home to LA and reworking it into a once-a-week format to fit busy schedules. This workshop is for writers of all levels who want a supportive framework in which to take a story idea from concept to first draft and beyond.
Each session will be a distinct module focusing on a set of principles in the screenwriting process, including character design, story structure, scene construction, and dialog polish. We mix mini-lectures, coaching, exercises, and targeted feedback in order to empower writers to produce their best work. The result is a comprehensive course delivering the hows and whys of screenwriting technique.
Bonus! Because the most fun part of the course is table-reading pages, after the workshop program concludes on March 28, we’re throwing in two extra sessions of page reads, giving you a chance to continue your work and get additional feedback on any specific challenges you’re experiencing.
A 10% discount applies for alumni of PageCraft or Michelangelo Screenwriting Italy retreats. A 5% discount applies for alumni of PageCraft workshops in Los Angeles. Please note that only the higher discount applies for alumni of both.
