MONTALBINO RETREAT: THE VENUE

Students will live and work at the Agriturismo Montalbino, in the Chianti region near Florence, where world famous wine and olive oil is cultivated and produced in the rolling Tuscan hills. In Italy, an agriturismo is a working farm with accommodations for visitors, and Montalbino is wonderfully equipped with villas and apartments, two swimming pools, and a restaurant, surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, and plenty of hiking trails.

Please explore the Agriturismo Montalbino website, which features plenty of photos, to learn more about the accommodations and the area. Activities offered by Agriturismo Montalbino include cooking classes, wine tastings, walking itineraries, and even archery classes.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Students may request single rooms or share double rooms. We can assist with matchmaking roommates. We have reserved Montalbino’s Orciaia apartment (actually an independent villa with its own kitchen and a large living room), and will add other accommodations if required. Although not all rooms are en suite, each has a dedicated bathroom. Bedrooms are on the upper floor. Agriturismo Montalbino offers complimentary wireless Internet service.

Agriturismo Montalbino has a restaurant on the premises. As part of the registration fee, the restaurant will provide a daily continental breakfast every day and lunch/dinner on workshop days. See our schedule for further details.
