Bringing Your Script to the Screen: Writing and Directing a Feature Film
With indie filmmaker Jason Neulander
Location: Zoom
Next session: Thursday, May 9, 2024; 5pm Pacific Time (90 minutes)

A primer for writers who want to learn more about directing their first feature film.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:

For so many writers the dream of directing their own script feels out of reach. Sure, it would be great to keep creative control and bring your vision to life the way you imagine it. But there are too many unknowns, too many questions, and too many roadblocks.

Join intrepid indie filmmaker Jason Neulander as he dismantles your preconceptions. His seminar is designed to give you a comprehensive overview of how to bootstrap your own production from soup to nuts, based on his own repeated success doing just that. You’ll leave with a clear understanding of the steps in the process and what you can do to make your dream a reality.

“I’ll cover: initial budgeting, creating a pitch deck, creating a business plan, how to raise the money, pre-production, prep, the shoot, post-production, festivals, and distribution. I’ll talk about this stuff in the context of my personal experience and try to answer questions about the projects that the attendees hope to make. While I’ll be focusing on making a feature, I can also answer questions about shorts.”
