California Rewriting Lab
Location:
Motel Inverness, Inverness, California (Point Reyes National Seashore)
Dates: Saturday, October 12 – Sunday, October 20, 2024
Leader: Heidi Hornbacher

Join us in the lovely, wild Point Reyes National Seashore for a week of writing growth.

Open to all screenwriters with some training or experience.

With this specialized version of our Writing is Rewriting curriculum, you’ll examine your script from every angle to identify what’s working and what isn’t, with our insightful mentoring and the support of your cohort every step of the way.

This lab is ideal for any writer to needs time, space, coaching, and accountability to create a seamless, breakthrough draft. We will review our screenwriting tools, workshop your pages, and give you assignments to accelerate your writing process, peeling back all the layers of your characters and story until you feel confident about every nuance of your narrative.

Each day we will have a full cohort meeting. We will examine the deeper elements of your script, including character arcs and story structure, leveling up your writing skills along the way. Each writer will submit pages for table reads and feedback from the whole group. Our workshop leader will be available for one-to-one meetings at other times.

The support doesn’t end there. When the lab concludes, you have two months to take advantage of an in-depth Script Consultation for 50% off. You also become eligible for our affordable Alumni Drop-In sessions, designed especially for those who need a little extra time to finish their draft. Your first two sessions are included in the registration fee, provided they are used within two months.
